Emtenan graduated from the Sudan University of Science and Technology, College of Communication Sciences, majoring in journalism and publishing. She received a number of training courses in journalism and media and then started working in the field of journalism in 2013 with a number of newspapers in Sudan such as Al-Mashhad Al-An and the Al-Youm Al-Taly, in addition to foreign newspapers such as Al-Quds Al-Arabi and some websites outside Sudan. Emtenan is a member of the Sudanese Journalists Network.
